My name is Sylwia and I am the owner of Bloomi – modern cloth diapers which will help you take care of your baby and our planet.
Why?
I came across cloth diapers in 2012, just after our younger son came to world. It soon became clear that this little one suffers from sensitive skin and disposables caused skin irritations and rash and no cream was able to ease the pain. Then a friend of mine told me about cloth nappies and…. it was it! When we started using them skin problems ended.
I was so fascinated with this discovery that I began exploring the market and became a distributor of an American cloth diapers brand for Poland and Europe.
It took 8 years during which my motivation to promote using cloth nappies evolved somewhat. Whilst at the beginning it was mainly the health aspect, with time ecological reasons came into play, too.
The latter was to a vital extent influenced by my move to Norway. Here I felt how important everyday contact with nature is for our health. Living in the vicinity of mountains, forests and the sea gives me incredible energy and happiness.
I also realized that if we want our children to be able to take full advantage of the possibilities and charms of our planet, we must take more care of it now and pay more attention to, among other things, the amount of waste generated.
All this motivated me to create my own brand of cloth diapers.
My mission with Bloomi is to convince ecologically aware parents not to give up their beliefs and lifestyle when baby is born. I offer products that make the baby care healthy and at the same time environment-friendly.
I know that giving a birth is a revolution in the life of parents. We have to re-arrange our daily rituals. But when we make conscious choices and our acting is consistent with our values, satisfaction is amazing!
Production
I wanted Bloomi products to be made of natural materials as much as possible, which at the same time could be washed like the clothes we wear every day. I have chosen cotton because it is easy to care for, does not cause allergies and is pleasant to the touch.
The cotton used in Bloomi is produced in Poland, the country with a strong tradition in the textile industry.
I am a mother of two children, for whom any labels, seams or unpleasant structure of the material are unbearable. Therefore, when creating diapers, I was paying a lot of attention to whether it would be comfortable for the baby and at the same time easy to use for the parent.
Bloomi diapers are sewn in small sewing workshops. This allows me to avoid unneccesary excess in output and thanks to a close dialogue be sure that the process is handled with mutual respect. And last but not least, I can support women who took the risk and decided to fight for their dreams and independence by starting their own business.
